I gotta say, 2025 is off to a spectacular start in general, I've got a mile-long list of to-be-read books and I'm all dizzy and excited about it.
So to start, while I've been pretty lazy about updating my reading progress or catching up with life in general, I've just had a great time being present and experiencing everything, so let's begin our one-sided chit-chat shall we?

The first book I read this year was Sophie Lark's 'Monarch'. I've read her work before and high-school-based books just don't do it for me anymore. However, Monarch was just so different with a gothic-based setting. Elena and Atlas's chemistry and longing is refreshing to read, it totally vibes with the song, 'Touchin' Me' by Chandler Leighton. So good! The ending was a bit predictable but well-written, so kudos! It is the second book in the Grimstone series, and although I haven't read the first book, I'm planning on doing it ASAP.
After procrastinating for a really long time, I finally picked Lana Ferguson's 'Under Loch and Key' which was released back in early December. I dared not to pick it up because well Lana has an amazing but exhausting way of giving book hangovers and I was just not prepared for it. But good god, this book is so cute, full of lore and kinda haters-to-lovers romance, quest mode, and whatnot.
Another book that had me hypothetically clutching my pearls was Sara Cate's 'Keep Me', it was just so damn gorgeous, and sexy, just as it was emotional and tender. It meant a great deal to see FMC come out of her shell and embrace her person. I'll be reading more of Sara's books here on!
And now the finale book and the Author of the Month because obviously, cue drumroll for Rebecca Yarros! 'In the Likely Event' is the first-ever military and war-based romance that I've ever read and it was heart-warming and painful at the same time..even much more when you know that the author has drawn from her own experiences as a military wife.
Rebecca is a truly stellar author and I can't believe I hadn't heard about her before Fourth Wing.
On that note, I finished Onyx Storm, and I'm here collecting my thoughts, I'll probably write a long review because it's a longggg wait ahead and it is just extraordinary alright! I miss Xaden and Violet already!
Until I read more books and I have to blabber about it all, adios people!
Happy Reading!
