One-of-a-kind, I kid you not.

I've never been as crazy about the author Emily Henry as all the general populace is, and no I do not say this without actually reading her work, trust me, we readers will never commit that transgression.
My opinion is solely based on the fact that many of her books marketed as romcoms are not that rom-comy, you know. They are a bit preachy and philosophical, and I do not have anything against a little workout for my brain but the packaging has to say that right?! When I go ahead to read a rom-com I am looking for all those cute, mushy feelings that stir the lover inside me, making me want to snuggle up with a cutie myself, so it's not good of you blowing up my little fantasy bubble Emily.

But, but, but, Emily Henry's latest release is all romantic, that is, it stands true to its packaging. With an unusual plot line and a golden-retriever hero who waits for his lady's love, cares for her, and worships her, it is amazing!
The 'Funny Story' is actually a funny story you see, albeit a little morbidly, Daphne, our leading lady has loved Peter, her fiance in a much simpler understanding of the word, and Peter, in turn, has always been good in his affection for her, but everything turns to dust when a couple of months before their wedding, Peter realizes that he is actually in love with his childhood friend, Petra and he ditches his fiance in the pursuit of his newly-realized love.
Similarly, Petra's boyfriend now ex-boyfriend finds himself in the same predicament, ditched by the woman he loved for years, and heartbroken. It is this tragedy of their lives that brings Daphne and Miles together, first as roommates then as something more, their tragedy morphs into a beautiful romantic comedy, IYKYK.
But how exactly that happens is for y'all to read and experience! After all, reviews are only the tip of the iceberg, there's so much more to the story. Pun intended.
So go ahead, read 'Funny Story' by Emily Henry.
